DTE Solar Currents makes solar energy up to 50% more affordable for customers who purchase and install a solar photovoltaic (PV) system on their home or business.

DTE SolarCurrents is a new pilot program offered by DTE Energy (formerly Detroit Edison). It’s designed to reduce:

• The installed cost of a solar PV system
• Your monthly electricity costs for 20 years
• Your carbon footprint

DTE Energy has been authorized by the Michigan Public Service Commission to partially reimburse customers for installing solar PV systems, not to exceed $25 million in total.

Not only can you receive a generous payment upon installation, but you will receive a credit on your energy bill for the next 20 years.  This is in addition to federal tax credits and any other local incentives from your state, county, or municipality! 

Under DTE SolarCurrents, customers will receive a one-time payment when their system is installed. They then will receive monthly credits on their electric bill for the next 20 years for providing Detroit Edison with renewable energy credits associated with the system.
